Founded by international consultant Transphere Intelligence, following the UK’s landmark entry into the CPTPP, the IGC was born from a direct need to bridge the gap between trade policy and business growth. What began in early 2025 as a national initiative led to pivotal discussions with the UK Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Business and Trade. It became clear that while the UK had the agreements, it lacked a private-sector-led "execution layer" to help businesses actually use them. Today, the IGC has evolved from these high-level dialogues into a dedicated platform that transforms global trade frameworks into measurable commercial success for its members.

We offer two distinct pathways into the Council's ecosystem. Corporate Membership is intended for growth-oriented UK firms seeking to translate trade agreements into commercial opportunities. Overseas Membership offers international partners a premium, curated program to gain structured access to the UK market and its network of active exporters. Both tiers focus on meaningful engagement and measurable outcomes rather than passive listing.
